This award, announced in the Pregame Show, is underwritten by David McCartyand Ernest McCarty Ford. The honorees are selected by coaches and the broadcast media based upon their contribution to the team during games and practice and not necessarily on a solo performance. Each honoree will be invited and recognized at our annual awards banquet where a McCarty Ford Defensive Player of the Year will be announced from the pool of weekly honorees.
